Plots(1)

This real-life story stars Robin Williams as Patch Adams, a truly unorthodox doctor who clashes with his superiors over the best way to treat patients. For Doctor Adams, the happiness of his patients is paramount and he will go to almost any extreme to keep them laughing. However, this is not always easy as the authorities take an increasingly dim view of his actions. (Universal Pictures UK)

English Sometimes deeply moving and other times too brutally manipulative. The lighthearted mood suited me fully until about two-thirds of the way through, and even though I knew that if it lasted until the end, Patch Adams wouldn't have a memorable conclusion to rely on, it would still be more pleasant for me than the painful and unexpected twist. Because of it, I probably wouldn't watch this movie again. If you want to cry like I did, you can't miss it. ()

English Even though it's sometimes very sentimental, I just enjoyed this. Robin Williams shows that he can beautifully connect the comedic and dramatic aspects, and in his case, it simply works perfectly. Yes, at times it's pathetic and unnecessarily unbelievable, but it's simply a beautiful story about a man who only wanted to help. ()
