English I kind of have the feeling that American movies didn’t use to be as critical of America’s past as they are today. Robert Duvall portrays a slave-owner, but in the end you’ll be rooting for him because he isn’t that bad after all. And to make the story more palatable, they put into is a kid who’s a real smart-pants. ()
