In addition to mounting problems of his awkward age, the teenager Karesz has to face his mother's expectations and ambitions. The mother, a weaver who became a widow prematurely, wants him to become a clerk by all means. When the boy leaves high-school, she manages to get him employed in an office. But Karesz who is full of discontent and lack of interest gets sacked soon. When he realises how accommodating and serviceable he has to be in order to get some tip from the guests, his illusions cherished about work in the private sector vanish in the thin air. He feels an ever widening gap between himself and his classmates, even his love, the house caretaker's daughter who has made him a grown-up man, and everybody else, too. He decides to start a new life working in a factory. (official distributor synopsis)
