Mathematics of Crime

TV miniseries by Peter Bebjak, director of the award-winning crime series, The Nineties, has been inspired by a successful podcast of the same name and a real case from 2009. Investigative journalist Sodomková receives a message from an Indonesian prison. A Czech citizen sentenced to twelve and a half years in prison claims that he did not commit any crime. An erroneous opinion of a forensic expert, nicknamed the Mathematician of Crime, was to blame. The journalist gradually reveals that many facts in the case do not fit. With the series, Peter Bebjak draws attention to the powerlessness in the face of a system that we mistakenly believe cannot fail. (Finále Plzeň)
