For the past ten years Marker has mainly made films for television and on video. His videocamera takes on the same meaning as his Rolleiflex: that of a photo camera with which he can capture his images. Berliner Ballade is one of those video films. It was made shortly after the collapse of the Berlin wall, six years ago now. (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam)
