English A full-length authorial project by Bill Plympton, presented at a festival, where it won in the feature film category. The festival victory itself doesn't mean much, as the competition in this category tends to be weak for commercial reasons. However, it's definitely not a bad film. It bears the usual hallmarks of Plympton's work, namely a nonconformist script and unmistakable drawing style. But I've always had issues with the artistic approach of Plympton's works - his drawing style simply doesn't sit well with me. So, it only gets three stars, although otherwise, it would reliably get one more for its unpolished charm. The film can be seen as a dark parody of American teenage movies set in high schools. Overall impression: 65%. ()
