Season 1 (2023) (S01)

English I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the first season, but I must say I'm very pleased with the outcome. I've already mentioned this in the reviews for individual episodes, but I have to reiterate: the cast was exceptionally strong, the story kept me engaged, and there was atmosphere, tension, and fantastic dialogues. Not to mention the intelligent humor, which had me thoroughly entertained. / Lesson learned: I guess I couldn't be a diplomat... 4*+ ()

The Cinderella Thing (2023) (S01E01)

English The plot didn't exactly blow me away, but it didn't disappoint either. However, I'm definitely intrigued by how things will unfold, as I haven't found myself bored thus far. Ever since I watched The AmericansKeri Russell's held a top spot on my list of favorite actresses. Now it's crystal clear to me that she belongs there. Plus, Rufus Sewell plays the role of a skilled sniffer and a notorious pain in the ass. With a quality script, I think this could shape up to be an interesting experience. / Lesson learned: A burqa is a suitable social attire in Britain nowadays. ()

Don't Call It a Kidnapping (2023) (S01E02)

English So far, things are going quite well with this show. Rufus Sewell delivered an excellent performance, just as I expected. However, Keri Russell was absolutely amazing, which didn't surprise me at all. Ever since I met Elizabeth Jennings, I've come to expect nothing less from her. I particularly enjoyed the political maneuvering in this episode. It had a nice atmosphere, and I appreciated that the creators included occasional flashes of humor. / Lesson learned: Don't trust, always verify. ()

Lambs in the Dark (2023) (S01E03)

English I just can't get enough of her! Keri Russell was fantastic in the last episode, but she really outdid herself in this one, especially during that fight in the bushes :-) Yet, it wasn't just that. The screenwriter clearly put a lot of effort into both the plot and the dialogue, making it a truly awesome watch that I thoroughly enjoyed. / Lesson learned: There are moments in life where words alone can't fully express the emotions. ()

He Bought a Hat (2023) (S01E04)

English I'm truly enjoying this show so far. This episode took on a serious tone, the stakes were high, the dialogue was sharp, the acting was top-notch, and the creators even added a hint of humor to spark things up. / Lesson learned: Always suspect there's a Russian behind everything. ()

The Dogcatcher (2023) (S01E05)

English Not that I couldn't imagine the episode to be better, but overall, I was quite content with how the story unfolded. That said, I found myself enjoying the acting performances more than the plot itself. / Lesson learned: There's always a place on the map that could be wiped out. ()

Some Lusty Tornado (2023) (S01E06)

English I'm still having a blast. The actors are fantastic, no question about that, but what really has me thrilled is the quality of the dialogue. It's an absolute delight. These conversations aren't just loaded with double entendres, but triple entendres :-) I can imagine working in a rendering plant requires a seriously strong stomach, but politics? That's a whole other level. And not in a good way. / Lesson learned: With humor, even a nuclear threat seems more bearable. ()

Keep Your Enemies Closer (2023) (S01E07)

English The episode kicked off with a dialogue that was a brilliant display of diplomacy, even though it wasn't about politics or international relations per se. It's these kinds of dialogues that continue to be my favorite part of the series, right alongside the impressive acting performances. Of course, the story is well-crafted, and even in its most serious moments, the creators don't forget about humor. Finding a show with genuinely decent dialogue is a bit of a rarity these days. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. / Lesson learned: Sometimes, the most crucial part of a conversation is what goes unsaid. ()

The James Bond Clause (2023) (S01E08)

English I've already praised the quality of humor in the previous episodes. In the finale, the tone darkened, humor took a backseat, yet the five stars perfectly encapsulate my satisfaction with the concluding, suspenseful, dark drama. I'm already looking forward to the next season. / Lesson learned: Keep your distance from explosions. ()
