Plots(1)

Emperor penguins have lived for centuries with one simple goal in life: to find their soulmates through their own unique heart song. Mumble (Elijah Wood), son of Memphis (Hugh Jackman) and Norma Jean (Nicole Kidman), is the worst singer in the world but he is a brilliant tap dancer. Unfortunately in Antarctica his toe-tapping talent is deemed peculiar and poor Mumble is branded an outcast by the Emperor Elders and is even accused of causing the mysterious fish famine which is gripping the penguin community and threatening their way of life. Mumble decides to leave his family and goes on a journey to determine the real cause of the fish famine so he can prove his innocence. All adrift in a lonely hostile world, he meets The Amigos, a wise-cracking comedy crew of Latino Adelie penguins led by Ramon (Robin Williams), who think Mumble's smooth dance moves are 'accidentally cool' and a great way to impress the chicas. The Amigos help him realise the importance of being true to oneself and that being unique is a good thing. Mumble uses courage, determination and his happy feet to discover the truth, save Emperor Land and win the heart of his soulmate, Gloria (Brittany Murphy). (Warner Bros. Home Entertainment)

English Although constant singing can be maddening at times, the surprising story and amazing animation outweigh it. When I take the story about singing and dancing at face value, it is a surprisingly lively spectacle with a few unexpected twists. The animation is a complete fairytale, where every downhill ride is an unforgettable adventure and the snowstorm is a captivating experience. P.S.: The continuous singing becomes even more annoying the second time around. The transformation of the main character, along with the dance and especially the voice acting of Wood and Jackman, saves practically everything. 70% ()

English Happy Feet is a classic story for kids (even though in places it gets pretty adult). About growing up and the like. Nothing special. Apart from the marvelously chosen voices of the main penguins and the EXCELLENT music from John Powell which takes everything a level higher. In terms of animation, HF is a little up and down and scenes of genius like the blizzard or the aquarium are alternated by downright ordinary seals or elephant seals. But this turned out to be simply a much, much better movie than I was expecting. And I happen to really like penguins. :-). ()

English It's so beautiful, the animation is great, the music is also excellent, great voices have been chosen, but still, it didn't totally get under my skin, even though at the end, it really tried hard. Maybe the excessive effort to show how beautiful nature is bothered me. Similarly, I found it difficult to accept the real actors in the movie. ()
