When Holmes and Watson are called to a Sussex village by the local priest they find a community gripped by fear and illness. The source of this fear appears to be Stockton, a decendent of the St Clair family who in the last century had been deemed to be vampires. On their visit to the village, several people are taken ill and marked on the neck by what looks like a vampire. (iTunes)

English Great quality. Arthur Conan Doyle might not recognize his “Sussex Vampire" right away, but I think the film trumps the book in many ways - especially with its 100% horror atmosphere. As for Jeremy Brett, he's great as always, but Roy Marsden is truly demonic, and I get the impression that his hypnotic look has burned into my television. ()
