Uprooting his family after being assigned to a remote testing facility in Alabama, nuclear engineer and dedicated military man Hank Marshall (Tommy Lee Jones) is faced with a moral dilemma as an opponent of the weapons tests he's asked to complete. Adding to an already volatile situation is Hank's wife, Carly (Jessica Lange, in an Oscar®‐winning performance) whose erratic behaviour and flirtatious nature increase the strain on their relationship, bringing further unwanted attention. English The acting in this film is excellent. Jessica Lange and Tommy Lee Jones aren't that great together, but that's the strength of their relationship. And also the story, which I feel loses a lot of what it wants to say - the nuclear weapons ultimately seem to me to be a subplot rather than the main theme, which is actually a shame. ()
