King Midas (E08)

The investigation has become a personal obsession for Simon, evoking personal memories and feelings about his Jewish roots. He’s shaken by Bouli’s murder, and believing Attias might be responsible, tries to force him into making a mistake that will reveal his guilt. Simon discovers that the distinctive ring from the scene of Bouli’s murder has supposedly been resized, but he can’t convince the police to investigate. He’s all alone again. Attias humiliates Annabelle by parading around with his mistress, Julia, which both drives his wife to drink and enrages her father. This spoiled brat is burning bridges and destroying every connection he has, but Attias relishes this new identity as an agent of chaos and evil, taking whatever control he can of his destiny in the shadow of Simon’s investigation.
