English After a weaker opening half hour, in which only John Cleese's excellent blind man Pew and the cute jailer who announces his visit by smashing sticks into prisoners' backs are worth mentioning, Yellowbeard degenerates into an amazing avalanche of wacky ideas that are second to none. It all starts with a passage of several episodes of monitoring into the harbor and a perfectly pitched "Would you give three quarters for a piece of shit?" scene with a little girl, continues with a cruise, a not-quite-understood battle, and culminates in a massive skirmish on the island in which far more people fall than are killed. Four stars. Thanks for this movie. ()
