Solace

I felt like watching a decent mystery thriller that was basically butchered by the director. Starting with a shaky camera and ending with the director’s dictations proving that despite the movie’s mystery core, Anthony Hopkins’s clairvoyant abilities are strange. Touching a person and seeing his future or past is one thing but touching a strand of grass and seeing a whole scene from a few days ago is a little over the top. And that is coming from a person who usually enjoys this genre. (10/01/2019)

It's such a great, quite well-thought-out, which is somewhat expected because when you have such a variety of actors, and there are really plenty of them, you can't just come up with a bad movie. However, two actors stand out so much that they captivate you more than the story itself, which plays with the viewer a bit. Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell prove their abilities. (14/01/2016)

Huge potential and a fantastic cast. An original idea, but a deficient screenplay. The director is evidently cheap, his would-be modern approaches don’t suit the gloomy and mysterious nature of the story. If only someone like Fincher or Fukunaga had got their hands on this. Even so, it’s quite a pleasant watch and Hopkins is excellent as always. (21/12/2016)
