From Academy Award winners Joel and Ethan Coen, comes this outrageously funny comedy about a man who wins in court, and a woman who courts to win. Top divorce attorney Miles Massey (George Clooney) has got it all - serial gold-digger Marilyn Rexroth (Catherine Zeta-Jones) wants it all. When Miles falls for the unobtainable Marilyn a hilarious battle of deceit ensues, as underhand tactics, deceptions and an undeniable attraction escalate as the two square off this classic battle of the sexes. English The combination of the Coen brothers and (un)traditional romantic comedy works surprisingly well, mainly thanks to the central spiking duo. There’s nothing unforgettable, but the film is very entertaining. The question remains whether "only" a solid respite film is not a bit too little for filmmakers of Coens’ calibre... ()

English When bizarre supporting characters flood Clooney's narcissistic quotes and Zeta's incredibly gorgeous creature, not only is entertainment provided, but also a gem. Divorces, assets, or legal tricks are a part of calm black comedy, but true love is the very ingredient that makes Krutost (Cruelty) my beloved film. A royal spectacle. ()

English I love the Coens’ crime movies, but not their comedies. They have a strange sense of humour that I, an ordinary fan, probably have no chance to understand. George Clooney is fine as a successful and greedy lawyer, and Catherine is always awfully lovely to look at, but their love escapades mostly bored me rather than made me kick back and relax. At least it is saved for a while by Billy Bob Thornton, who again excels and climbs higher and higher in my acting rankings, unlike this romantic comedy. 60% ()

English The cast was literally crammed with so many big names that I was confused by this actually being an average romantic comedy, albeit a well-executed one. Catherine Zeta-Jones was very pleasing to my sensory functions, I was impressed by the acting talent of George Clooney's teeth, Billy Bob Thornton didn't stick around for too long, but it was worth it. I rate this a weak four stars. ()
