Even when a number of his contemporaries had been long past their prime, Oliveira, still full of energy, kept attacking audiences with modernist film experiments and trying their patience. My Case, an intertextually rich collage of theatrical performances shot by a crew headed by Oliveira himself, is a formally subversive film with some significant self-reflexive elements.
