When a group of criminals on the run after a bank robbery take refuge in an abandoned house, they have no idea what evil they have come upon. Isolated and presumed deserted, the house is anything but safe...As the night wears on and a thunderstorm grows outside, each member of the group begins to have visions of the atrocities that occurred within the house, haunting it forever. Voices in the well, visions of mangled bodies and clawing under the stairs plague their waking hours. As the fear in the group begins to grow and the supernatural forces in the house start to manifest themselves, the group turn on each other and exact the wrath of the soul trapped within the walls. English After the enthusiastic responses by horror fans, the expectations were high and therefore the big disappointment. The monster looks fine, if it was given more space I would have liked the film better. The jump-scares were nothing extraordinary, I was a bit startled a couple of times and that’s it. And the twist… it was weird. It’s true that Dead Birds is similar to Asian ghost stories, which for me is never a plus. ()

English A good idea setting a horror into a western environment, outstanding music, good in technical terms and an intriguing beginning... All this goes down the pipes about ten minutes in, when the “white goo" first appears. It might have helped if they had left the viewer unsure of what’s happening and showed things from the ghosts’ viewpoint. This way we have a movie where the atmosphere is built up using just music and a couple of frights. This has no story, and it’s the umpteenth variation on the theme “cut-off from the world in a strange, scary house" and nothing new at all. ()
