The Rocketeer is a full throttle blast of thrills, fun and dazzling special effects. It's movies like this that make me love movies so much. Adventure, action, fun, romance, a fragrant retro vibe, no big drama, likeable actors, clear direction by expert Joe Johnston (Captain America really couldn't have been handed to anyone more professional), and one of James Horner's best soundtracks. If only The Rocketeer had been a bit shorter and got rid of the boredom that reigned for a few minutes around the middle, then I couldn't fault it at all.
