English I basically have two problems with Servant of Two Masters - the style and the actor in the main role. As for style, this is a prime example of commedia dell’arte. Lots of plays on words, confusion of characters, declarations of love, situation comedy and of course the most typical is the cunning servant discreetly plotting in the background. Or, to tell the truth, in the foreground in this production. And that ‘s exactly what bothers me - all comedies in this style are “all the same". You see one, and you’ve seen them all. And now to Donutil. He’s not bad and fundamentally he is truly funny, but... He’s an entertainer, and I don’t mean that pejoratively, but this isn’t an acting performance in the real sense of the word. Just a one-man show that kills and needlessly blots out the other characters by drawing all attention only on himself. And that is no good. If you don’t believe me, try an adaptation of the same play performed by another company or another play by Goldoni. You´ll see. ()

English If only all comedies were like this... The world would be a better place... A.k.a. long live pigeons, incredible poodles, and an exercise book splattered with bread. This is not bad, if only the ending wasn't so typically typical... ;-))) I mean: "Give me your hand. Now take mine" :-D (why does it only revolve around weddings, loves? – not that I don't wish it on him, Truffaldino's one intelligent fool...). Just a great and intelligent production. ()
