English The Mystery of the Wax Museum isn't as dark as its twenty-year younger counterpart with Vincent Price, but there's already a bit of that atmosphere of eerie anticipation. It reaches its peak only at the very end, which is slightly reminiscent of The Phantom of the Opera. Thanks to its interesting two-tone rendition of the then-current Technicolor, the film has a very specific charm. ()
