Plots(1)

The students of John Hughes High School live the plot lines of numerous teen flicks, including SHE'S ALL THAT, AMERICAN PIE, TEN THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU, VARSITY BLUES, and SIXTEEN CANDLES, to name just a few. The most popular boy, Jake Wyler (Chris Evans) has bet his friends that he can make Janey Briggs (Chyler Leigh)--the poor, smart girl from the wrong side of the tracks--prom queen. Meanwhile, her little brother is in pursuit of the most beautiful girl he's ever seen when he's not getting into trouble with his geeky friends. Of course, a teen movie wouldn't be complete without a mean-spirited cheerleading captain, a lovestruck best friend, and a foreign exchange student, all of whom have prominent roles in the film. English The pinnacle of stupidity, rubbish, shit and I don't know what else. Some of the "funny" scenes, such as the dance with the Siamese twins or the kissing scene with the old woman, are stomach-churning. The fact that it is supposed to be a parody of teen movies doesn't excuse it, those look like masterpieces of Shakespearean proportions next to this crap. ()

English Once misunderstood parody, which did not find more supporters, even after this genre was definitively degraded. But for me, Bullshit is a film that walks on the furthest boundary, making fun of my beloved genre precisely by showing how much the creators love it and have followed it. Yes, there are many vulgarities. But the clever completion of every plot compensates for it excellently. ()

English A rather rude parody of a lot of well-known films. I have to admit that even though it is completely crude humor, I laughed a lot. Otherwise, the plot is of course nothing, the acting is also zero. So my two stars are only because I had fun. On the other hand, better than an attempt at an awkward and failed romantic comedy. ()

English From what is needed for a successful parody, Not Another Teen Movie only has genre knowledge. Gallen's film is mainly brought down by his inability to recognize where humor ends and awkwardness begins. And maybe even more than that, he lacks good taste. This is a film that underestimates its target audience. If you have even a little bit of insight and value yourself and your time, it's better to avoid Not Another Teen Movie. Overall impression: 5%. English I got back to Not Another Teen Movie after watching The Breakfast Club (for the first time!), which, along with many other teen movies, served as a breeding ground for parody. Thanks to the fact that I have seen (probably) all the films Not Another Teen Movie refers to, I could "enjoy" all the parodic references. I add the quotation marks on purpose, as the film gets very annoying due to the several pointlessly disgusting scene that it could have done without entirely. After all these years I appreciate the many apt references and allusions (not only in the form of the original Breakfast Club actors, which I actually realized only now) rather than the humor. ()
