If we ignore the superfluousness of this compilation that nobody really needs, we see that it is a successful cross-section of the best scenes and sketches to come out of Monty Python. The idea of releasing something like this is a big “Boo!". However, this takes nothing away from the genius of this humor that oozes with wit, absurdity and originality.

It would be tempting to say that these "Personal Best" DVDs are useless and don't even need to exist. But that wouldn't be true. For example, Eric's selection features scenes from Monty Python Live at the Hollywood Bowl or the German Fliegender Zirkus, which I was familiar with, but that does not mean that everyone is... This also includes Idle's brilliant etude "An investigative journalist seeks information about E.I., one of the Monty Pythons, visiting his mother, a gynecologist and a former Nazi leader". Five stars are a certainty - whoever gives them to the series must give them to this one.
