English Hardrock star Alice Cooper shines in this werewolf horror directed by the infamous Claudio Fragasso. I used the word "shines" intentionally because Cooper and his two songs are the only things worthy of any note in this garbage movie. Alice was allegedly going through not just a career crisis but a crisis in his whole life the time of filming: he was recovering from drug and alcohol addiction and, when finally sober, decided to try his luck with a low-budget horror movie, which – he was assured –would only be shown somewhere far away. The shitty screenplay revolves around a rock star who goes away to the countryside to shoot a music video, and while at it, some people turn into a werewolf here and there. It's not just about the transformation of the characters, the movie itself turns from a werewolf horror into a spaghetti western at one point, but that should hardly surprise anyone when it comes to Fragasso. And best of all? Well, when you cast a singer in the lead role, whose strongest asset is of course his distinctive voice, and then you have him dubbed over. I am speechless. ()

English The movie Monster Dog plays a lot on the fact that it has a famous singer in the lead role. Alice Cooper is a household name that would subconsciously create certain expectations in the audience. However, It is not very good and too simplistic concerning the horror aspect. It was a calculated move regarding Alice Cooper's involvement, although he is good in it, and there is certainly no shortage of musical numbers, although they work well. ()
