In the sequel Gremlins 2 - The New Batch Gizmo is in danger of dissection by the fiendish Dr Catheter (Christopher Lee), who works at Clamp Enterprises for eccentric billionaire Daniel Clamp (John Glover). I always thought of Gremlins 2 as a comedy, and that's truly its defining characteristic. It's a comedy, and it primarily works as a comedy. Some scenes are truly entertaining and memorable even after many years. The critique of giant corporations is presented nicely, amusingly, and exaggeratedly. It's a different film than the first one, but that doesn't mean it's not entertaining. It simply is entertaining.
