Plots(1)

An aspiring scriptwriter (Zdeněk Svěrák) looks forward to having his first script made into a movie. However, the crazy director (Ladislav Smoljak) decides to adapt the story from contemporary countryside as a senseless show. Its protagonists become teacher Eliška (Hana Zagorová), pyrotechnist Ticháček, and a rich dandy named Lenský (Juraj Kukura) who keeps singing hits whilst taking the shy teacher for a walk. The parody of our wheezing attempts to rival Hollywood grandeur presents the elite of 1970s pop singers. (Febiofest)

English The idea is interesting, some of the acting performances really please (especially the choleric Čepka is easy to remember), but I do not particularly like the musical comedy genre and this film will not change that, although it is largely a parody. A few musical numbers are definitely worth the fun, the gags are quite successful, but the "80s Barrandov atmosphere just doesn't sit well with me. However, this is a genre standard, and those who like films with singing and dancing plus a pinch of normalization retro will like Blockbuster. It's not crap or the figment of a madman, but in fact a pretty intelligent film... ()

English This is definitely the weirdest film ever to be produced by Svěrák and Smoljak. The very fact that in 1980, they managed to lure in so many personalities of the film and music industry of those times in connection with music that has since become legendary proves that even the weirdest film by this creative duo is still great fun that will have you laughing from from beginning to end. English It cannot be said that Trhák does not contain several decent jokes (my favorite being when Smoljak, as a director, shows the journalist how he will start demolishing the village with a gesture and his crew takes the gesture seriously). However, compared to the rest of the films on which Smoljak and Svěrák collaborated as screenwriters, it is clearly a weakness, and despite the presence of a number of famous actors and popular singers, only an average musical was created, which did not make a significant impact. Overall impression: 50%. ()

English I have to say that Svěrák always manages to surprise me. His scripts are simply excellent. What he is able to come up with, how he plays with the Czech language, the situations he puts his characters in. His films are always something interesting. This time it is because it is a film about the making of a film. It is a wonderful example of how the world of film is unforgiving and does not spare anyone. Especially the screenwriter himself, who has nothing to do on set. He has no power. What he creates on his typewriter/computer is actually just a template that is heavily adapted during filming. I know that Svěrák exaggerated it quite a bit, but I don't think he exaggerated it that much. Rather, he added the right humor to it. Misunderstanding at first glance clear sentences that are beautifully ambiguous. The screenwriter tries to convey something with his script, but for the others who ultimately create the film, it is only a source of money, or something where money disappears. Petr Čepek is absolutely unique as a producer. It's a shame that actors like him disappeared so quickly. The film is unique in another way: with the casting of an incredible number of great actors and especially singers. Waldemar Matuška, Olga Blechová, Hana Zagorová, Petr Spálený, Michal Tučný, Jiří Schelinger, Jiří Korn, Jana Kratochvílová. It's sad to realize that three of them are no longer with us. Let's face it, they are three of the best singers in our history. "Trhák" is an excellent film, with beautiful songs that I should have paid attention to a long time ago. My mistake for depriving myself of such interesting films. More: http://www.filmovy-denik.cz/2012/12/milk-az-vyjde-mesic-trhak-noc-v-muzeu-2.html ()
