Zlá minuta

Apart from Donutil, not particularly convincing actors and an absence of atmosphere. The last aspect is a particular shame since in a couple of places we get a hint of the latter, but this makes it even more disappointing that there isn’t more of it. Because good old nighttime Prague with temperatures below freezing is just oozing with atmosphere. And the screenplay isn’t at all original and is almost too readable. This changes nothing about the fact that in terms of Czech TV plays, this does its job. The almost ninety-minute long Zlá minuta (Bad Minute) isn’t that bad, just a little humdrum. (22/10/2007)
