Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder

The quality of the Futurama movies is dropping. Few jokes, an uninteresting and stupid feminist eco-plot, Wong as a villain is useless. And the opening credits didn't work this time either (they certainly don't match the "yellow submarine" from the previous film). (25/03/2011)

So, we have reached the end. Probably. I expected that the filmmakers would have an ace or two up their sleeves for the last movie. It's true they did but there just weren't as many as I expected. Bender, for example, wasn’t given much space while Fry stole the best parts. The Professor and Zoidberg I think only had honorary cameos, and Nibbler disappeared completely. I don't want to criticize it too much because I liked the movie (the ending was ingenious and I'm really happy with it), but I can't help feeling that it could have been better. And the final preferential ranking of the Futurama movies? The Beast with a Billion Backs, Bender's Big Score, Bender's Game, Into the Wild Green Yonder. I really liked this episode again and it suited me a lot. It's fun, it's properly wild, and again a lot of things are being addressed here, but it just works. Bender takes a bit of a backseat and actually it doesn't really matter, because from the background he usually makes the best jokes. The combination of feminism and environmental protection here is truly fantastic. (23/05/2014)
