Documentary about little-known Canadian metal band Anvil, whose 1982 album 'Metal on Metal' influenced a generation of heavy metal bands including Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax, all of whom went on to sell millions of records. But Anvil's career took a different path: straight to obscurity. The film tracks the band as they take an ill-advised European tour and release their 13th album in a last ditch attempt to hit the big time. (Altitude Film Distribution)

Sometimes you come across a real gem without knowing in advance that such a thing exists or even having heard of it. But I guess that's the fate of the band Anvil. The film shows that it's not enough to just be a legend when you don't have a good manager standing up for you - or when you don't live in a time when it's really easy to self-promote. Emotional, powerful, moving, and unbreakable. These gentlemen are to be admired.
