English An extraordinary testimony about what the Cold War and global rivalry between two superpowers meant, and how it influenced the thinking of the political elites and ordinary citizens of both countries. There is ample visual material and personal testimonies of scientists who were involved in the development of the most destructive weapons systems on both sides. After watching the documentary, a film enthusiast will understand the starting points from which Kubrick drew inspiration for his famous movie Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. It is a good example of the fact that even in a democracy, various kinds of entrenched fanatics can appear in important positions. Overall impression: 90%. ()

English A perfectly intimidating documentary. I'm almost embarrassed to give something so heinous a full rating, but this documentary is so impressive and chilling that I couldn't do otherwise. There are many that could be described as unique, testimony from scientists on both sides, a fair demonstration that the Russians and the Americans were equal not only in terms of technical progress and research, but also in terms of inhumanity and the complete suppression of all instinct for self-preservation and common sense in general. Terrible. ()
