Set in a near future in which the resources of the world are directed towards the rich, water has been privatised and the poor have become nothing more than virtual workers, Sleep Dealer is an impressive sci-fi film that combines new technology and global politics as three strangers attempt to connect with each other and begin to resist their continued exploitation. English When I found out there was a Mexican sci-fi movie, my interest was aroused. Sleep Dealer was begging me to watch it. I enjoyed the premise, which is definitely quite original indeed. On the other hand, I was mad about all those half-baked and evidently cheap moments in the film, which were dominated by digital effects that looked like something from a 1996 computer game. The characters didn’t save the movie either, and the only thing this movie had was the original idea. ()
