English Season 8 may have been one of the weaker, but it definitely doesn't deserve 65%. Technically, it remains the best television show ever and episode 3 along with the battle in episode 5 were among the best ever shown on TV. The last episode was a bit too tedious for my taste, but all in all I'm happy with how it turned out. 80%. ()

English Too rushed and with a bungled screenplay. It goes to show how just important the amount of time that Martin devotes to it is. The parts where the creators have to catch up with parts that have already appeared in the books are so painfully obvious that I regret not reading the books instead. The final threats of freedom are crossed with the ridiculing of democracy and the news of the eventual imposition of the status quo is the only realistic conclusion. A satisfying end of a road still under construction. ()

English The plot of Season 8 was extremely weak. It didn't surprise me after the previous shortcomings, but I still thought that the writers were taking a one-year break for a reason. This makes it seem like they just needed more time to totally twist logic to suit their needs. Disappointing, but at least it's over. ()

English Screenwriting dithering of the worst calibre. The internet has already taken care of most of the more constructive criticism for me, and is now grilling the showrunners mercilessly, and rightly so. Season 7 may not have made much sense, but it was still at least a ride that was cool enough to forgive its numerous holes in logic. But Season 8, no. After 8 years, the drop in quality is as if instead of The Return of the King, The Two Towers had been followed by Owen’s King Arthur. But what's far worse in Westeros than at head of the Round Table and his buddies is the fact that characters you've really cared about for years are drowning in the same mud. ()

English This was the fullest in terms of visuals, the most polished and the most cinematic of the entire series, whose overwhelming form is unfortunately ruined by the considerably less dense and robust content. The fundamental failure is the lack of more episodes, as the finale of the saga would have deserved a better analysis of the motivations of a number of characters and a better final showdown. Still, in hindsight, and with the flush of hate regarding the finale, I think Game of Thrones as a whole will be remembered similarly to Lord of The Rings, because like LoTR, GoT defined at least a decade in some ways.
