English That was pretty hardcore! I don’t have a problem with violence in movies, I’ve seen a lot, but this was something else. It’s hard to rate Grotesque because it’s nothing but brutal and utterly gratuitous carnage with a rather bizarre turning around the middle, thanks to which I will not soon forget it. In any case, for the director it’s a step backwards from the atmospheric Noroi the Curse, even if it is peak gore horror. ()

English I expected a bigger dud, but Grotesque won my sympathy with its bizarre black-humour concept – though I felt quite guilty, disgusted and contrived while watching it. The brutality is realistic, the motives of the deranged psychopath can be understood if you accept the fact that similar sadists really exist in the world, and the psychological pressure on the protagonists works well, even if the plot is very predictable. The very funny ending hurts it a lot, but I'll give it a weak three stars this time. ()

English A torture body romantic comedy with a biting head is something I'd be embarrassed to say I dreamed up. ()

English "Gurotesoku" is not a film that would leave you unaffected. It might even make someone nauseous. And for that, it definitely deserves credit. Unfortunately, the lack of a storyline is a shame. Within its genre, it is above average, but I still had a feeling that it could be even more disgusting, although the contrasts between calm and intense scenes are truly strong. If you have a strong stomach, give it a try. It's a new experience. ()
