The series follows a group of police led by Eddy Caplan (Jean-Hugues Anglade) who use violent and unorthodox methods in their criminal investigations. When this is brought to the attention of Internal Affairs, the department is faced with the difficult and dangerous task of exposing the group's methods and putting a stop to them. Meanwhile, Caplan and his colleagues attempt to discover who is responsible for smearing the reputation of their former leader who has committed suicide following spurious allegations of corruption. English According to the first part, Braquo is the perfect opposite of series like Commissaire Moulin or its newer edition Navarro, who are nice people from the point of view with a sense of justice and using only the right methods. In contrast, their colleagues from Braquo are tired and weathered cynics who know that fighting criminal scum cannot be done the easy way, so they are never far from hitting someone or uncompromising action, perceiving the rights of the arrested as a liberal invention of noble fantasists. One of their colleagues uses the usual method of torture, and under a wave of righteous indignation, he gouges out the eye of a captured gangster (he deserved it, the scoundrel had insolent remarks), whereupon the disgusting harassment of the police inspection leads this veteran to commit suicide. From my point of view, the series has the flaw of siding with the side in the conflict that is worse between the gang and the police because if this is how justice is supposed to be, then I want to stand on the other side. But I'll give it two more episodes, and if it doesn't fundamentally transform, I will end my involvement with a series that glorifies the most repulsive traits of the French special police forces (especially the anti-drug department is known for this sort of thing in France). Overall impression: 40% so far. ()
