In this model story, an unknown foreigner and his interpreter are brought to the house of a disappointed woman who lives alone with her daughter. The relationship between the foreigner and woman is threatened by the translator’s jealousy and the daughter who is afraid that their accustomed life together will be destroyed. The filmmakers conceive of the Tower of Babel as a symbol for the end on human beings’ ability to understand. (official distributor synopsis)
