Plots(1)

The Walking Dead follows a group of survivors who travel in search of a safe and secure home during the zombie apocalypse. The series explores the challenges of life in a world overrun by walkers who take a toll on the survivors, and sometimes the interpersonal conflicts present a greater danger to their continuing survival than the zombies that roam the country. Over time, the characters are changed by the constant exposure to death, and some grow willing to do anything to survive. (Entertainment One)

Reviews of this series by the user Necrotongue (108)

Swear (2016) (S07E06)

English When things are going well, they are going well! The previous episode was full of inconsistencies, this episode was boring and uninteresting from start to finish. The character Tara was brought back into the story, which I didn't miss at all and I really didn't enjoy her storyline. It was a typical example of how creators stretch a story to sixteen episodes. I can't believe what happened to the series that I enjoyed so much in its first season. ()

Sing Me a Song (2016) (S07E07)

English If someone still fumbled about what is the biggest evil in the series, I have been clear about this question for a long time. It is Rick's pubescent pain-in-the-ass Carl, every time he appears on the screen, I feel like all my indicators are going into the red. If I had the opportunity, I would kill him very slowly, but first he would have to eat that stupid hat! ()

Hearts Still Beating (2016) (S07E08)

English It happened what I was afraid of. Negan's character desperately lacks any development, his behavior is horribly stereotypical/predictable. It's a shame because I was hoping that Negan would bring the much-needed excitement to the story. On the other hand, Daryl pleased me by showing that even in killing people, one can find Jesus. ()

Rock in the Road (2017) (S07E09)

English After a while, an episode appeared that I quite enjoyed and I would gladly rate it with four stars, if only... The creators of the series The Walking Dead understood some time ago that it is not possible to build multiple seasons around stumbling zombies, which is why Rick and the gang face many other obstacles. It has gone so far that in the seventh season, the undead are just a common backdrop, if any sample appears at all, but when Rick breaks down a barrier, a herd appears out of nowhere, just like in the first season. Hmm, and we're back to square one. ()

New Best Friends (2017) (S07E10)

English I really have no idea if the screenwriters read what they wrote, but if they do, they must have memory disorders and don't know what they wrote before. For several seasons now, the show has been addressing the dwindling supply options, which makes sense, but then I don't understand how such a large group as the one from the junkyard can sustain themselves in an area claimed by Negan, the people from Alexandria, Hilltop, and the Kingdom. Furthermore, I didn't notice anyone ever encountering even a single member of this community. And Rick's fight in the "arena"? Why? I remembered Gwen DeMarco's character from Galaxy Quest desperately asking why there are crushers on the spaceship. Just because. ()

Hostiles and Calamities (2017) (S07E11)

English Damn, it was such a terrible bore. I can't find out anything new about Eugen that I haven't already discovered long ago, so when the eleventh episode reintroduced all of his "interesting" quirks, it was a major disappointment for me. If it comes to mumbling and uncoordinated movements, the creators should rely on the undead extras once again. ()

Say Yes (2017) (S07E12)

English I added a star because Eugene was not here, but I couldn't go any higher. The story practically didn't move, after a complicated weapon collection, we are back at square one, and the creators once again disregarded the rules they themselves set. The undead are chasing a car with the engine turned off and ignoring the shooting. I understand, everything for tension, but I almost chewed my nails to blood. ()

Bury Me Here (2017) (S07E13)

English I was surprised that the thirteenth episode was quite decent, even though it revolved around melons. The opening drama with the Whisperers really unsettled me, and if Morgan and Carol didn't unnecessarily slow down the plot with their endless conversations about nothing, I could have given it a better rating. ()

The Other Side (2017) (S07E14)

English Well, yes. This episode was apparently made to fill the gap between Parts 13 and 15. The creators cooked up an unappetizing goulash consisting of absurd decisions, odd behavior of some characters, and diluted it all with intense emotional play. I gave a star for Simon's expressive face. ()

Something They Need (2017) (S07E15)

English Oh well, how should I rate and comment on this? Probably like this: under different circumstances, the episode would have ended slightly above average for me, but the script once again contradicts what was previously written. When I recall the dramatic circumstances under which the Alexandrians obtained those explosives, I would expect them to save them for a proper target, but no! They use them like a SWAT team uses flash grenades. And as if that wasn't enough, they shoot a wagon full of low-profile ammunition into the undead. However you want it, Rick, it's done. ()

The First Day of the Rest of Your Life (2017) (S07E16)

English Despite the dragged-out gaps, I ended up rating the episode above average with Sasha, and digi Shiva definitely did not convince me otherwise, even though she tried to prove to me with all the pixels that those people are really tearing it apart. It was thanks to the heroic leader Rick, who armed his own Al-Qaeda following the example of the American government, and that's what entertained me. ()

Season 8 (2017) (S08)

English Season 8 managed to surpass even the terrible Season 7 with how boring and annoying it was. The creators of the series are obviously clueless, so most of the runtime was taken up by incredibly silly dialogue and speechifying, in which the speakers made the mistake of not painting half their face blue, riding a horse and waving a two-handed sword around. Once again, the creators decided to go for melodramatic scenes and Gabriel's religious claptrap, while the story was stalling and lacking in logic and the only charismatic bad guy turned into a caricature of himself. ()

Mercy (2017) (S08E01)

English Truth is, I have a total lack of motor skills, but apparently I'm mentally fine. However, I have the impression that the first episode of the eighth season is aimed more towards mentally less equipped viewers, because I couldn't find much logic in the storyline. Another possibility is that I misunderstood it all and Negan has an allergy to drafts, which Rick knows (presumably from Dwight), so he breaks all the windows to force him out of his stronghold. Naturally, motivational speeches and close-ups of Rick's face with bloodshot eyes couldn't be missing for the connoisseurs. ()

The Damned (2017) (S08E02)

English I got really nervous when I realized that I missed an episode where Rick had a munitions factory built in Alexandria. In the end, I found out that it was probably some kind of bonus episode, because I've seen all the regular ones. I'm even more sorry because it was a crucial episode, as now there is shooting in the series like in Normandy on D-Day, and nobody cares about the bullets. Rick has an army of one man in Morgan, Jesus lives up to his name and appearance and has started behaving like an idiot for good. ()

Monsters (2017) (S08E03)

English I gave a star to the third episode only out of nostalgia, I used to really enjoy this show some time ago, but now it has become a strange mess, where big words are constantly being said, motivational speeches are delivered (the same thing over and over again, just in pale blue), emotions are played upon and logic is ignored. Sad. ()

Some Guy (2017) (S08E04)

English I have to admit that this time Frajer 42 spoke from the heart, it was a really accurate comment. The introduction of the episode already indicated that I would have a great time watching, as I could peacefully observe Ezekiel shaving and putting on a shirt. It was better than an adrenaline injection. And then came the big-mouthed speeches, touching farewells, and then almost endless suffering with the stumbling Rastafarian. I couldn't figure out how it's possible to shoot down four guys from the rooftop and not hit anything in the open space. Carol should probably blindfold herself before a fight. The star this time goes to Rick. Watching the half-inch bullets (for the uninformed, 12.7 mm) bounce off the radiator grille of his Jeep was simply delightful :-) In conclusion, I will (almost) quote an animated series: "They pixelated Shiva, you bastards!" ()

The Big Scary U (2017) (S08E05)

English "The Walking Dead, when I decide to watch a series with such a title, I certainly don't expect a theological-philosophical discussion and two-thirds of the episode filled with tiresome babbling. When there was finally no more babbling about anything, demented characters were introduced into the action, and I realized that I had watched the previous episode about the complex acquisition of machine guns completely unnecessarily." ()

The King, the Widow and Rick (2017) (S08E06) Boo!

English In addition to being extremely boring, the sixth episode was also extremely stupid. I don't know if the creators hired any weapons advisors for filming, but if they did, they wasted their money. Shooting an RPG at three meters is definitely not a good idea, from what happened after the hit, my jaw almost dropped, and the logic was missing again. The car must not leave the garage, I have an RPG, why wouldn't I just blow up that vehicle? Because it would be too easy, of course! And besides, that disgusting game of emotions... ()

Time for After (2017) (S08E07)

English The eighth season is currently a clear desperation, once again the episode drowned in a lot of unnecessary talking, the storyline with Rick at the Saviors is ridiculously stupid, and the only even slightly more interesting moment was Daryl's action. Even that had to be properly messed up, of course. ()

How It's Gotta Be (2017) (S08E08)

English The eighth episode impressed me only by feeling endless. The characters behaved once again according to the script, that is, demented. "Profound" conversations and emotionally intense moments happened again, which really get on my nerves. The fight between idiot Rick and Negan made me laugh. What does Rick actually have that axe on his belt for? Nobody knows. Originally, I rated it with just one star, but I had to add a second one for Carl's finale. Finally!!! :-) ()
