Shots in 3/4 Time

It's absolutely unforgivable that this Western action crime film is still not in the wider consciousness as something automatic - because having a mid-1960s "golden age" film in color starring Brejchová alongside Pierre Brice and Terence Hill (!!!), there's just nowhere to go from here. It's not my favorite genre, but I've seen Weidenmann's earlier work with Romy Schneider and it was very enlightening. Yet when I focus specifically on Brejchová, who is just continuing her role from Der Traum des Hauptmann Loy in this film, I'm not particularly impressed. She tries once again to be a femme fatale, wearing a huge dark mikado and using a cigarette to seduce Pierre. However, it is clear to me that it has a right to address its Czech audience. (21/07/2013)
