A glamorous movie star (Hedy Lamarr) and her alcoholic daughter (Jane Powell) vie for the affections of a handsome young movie extra (George Nader) who has entered their lives. When the older woman generously opens her lifestyle to the young man, his insecurities feed his ambivalence. When he ends up in the arms of her daughter, disaster looms. (Arrow Films)

The 1950s were not Hedy's best film period. After 1951 she was only on television as a guest and finished her last feature films, which were a mere shadow of her films from the previous decades. At the end of such an interesting career, it called for a more optimistic project than the usual noir intergenerational feud, in which the "once" charming Hedy Lamarr plays the older one and the other one.
