Frederik Feinermann is an up-and-coming young bank employee who lives an uneventful, orderly life. But when a bank customer, whom Frederik has denied a loan due to the bank crisis, shoots himself in front of Frederik, he snaps. Together with ex-con Vince Holland he begins to live out a new, darker side of himself that he has suppressed for years. The initial rush of excitement he gets out of crossing social boundaries soon develops into an addiction to violence and crime. Frederick desperately tries to win back Nadine, the love of his youth. He clings to the idea that with her he will find a way out of the vicious circle. But he has already gone too far.
After a number of prize-winning short films Maximilian Erlenwein has directed his first feature film, GRAVITY, for which he was awarded the coveted German young director's award "First Steps". From the motivation of the jury: "GRAVITY is a weighty work: great cinema, entertaining but with depth. A closely-knit story with brilliant dialogue; characters that allow the actors to engage at a high level; perfectly cast and directed; excellent camerawork; vigorous editing; and topping it all, a congenial music score."
