Fred lives a quiet, isolated life in his car, having lost all hope of improving his situation. That all changes when he forms an unlikely friendship with Cathal, a dope-smoking 21-year-old with a positive attitude who becomes his 'neighbor'. Sharing both laughs and hard times too, Fred and Cathal find the simple, free pleasures of life. Cathal is determined to make Fred sort his life out, and it works. Fred modifies his car, beats the welfare system and makes a friend in Jules, an attractive music teacher who lives alone nearby. But Fred struggles with his pride over whether to tell Jules about his 'home', and Cathal's life is threatened by his escalating drug habit. As they grow closer, the influence these three outsiders have on each other will change their lives. (Zlín Film Festival)

English I figured this wasn't going to be a film that would interest me, but it's exactly the kind of enjoyable little film where it's all about the characters and their fates, whether good or bad, and it works very well. Colm Meaney shows us that he is a very capable actor and carries the plot through to the end, even if you wonder if he is actually the main character. ()

English The Irish once again gave me a brutal thrashing full of reality and black humor. I often think that even if those people were at death’s door, they would come up with some catchphrase that would immediately ruin the atmosphere. Parked is a beautiful yet sad film. That happens when you watch a great realistic drama full of wonderful acting performances and unique characteristics of the given countries. Maybe that’s why I like watching European movies so much.
