CORNELIS is a biographical music film chronicling the life of Cornelis Vreeswijk – a life unlike any other. A hard life which started anew as many times as it collapsed. A life lived in euphoria and in darkness. It is the film about one man's constant search, restless need to express himself, and enigmatic contradictions. The shy, bourgeois man who becomes a womanizer, a national ruffian, banned from the radio. The social worker with writer's dreams who becomes a musician.
