English Robert De Niro got a small role where he was forced to return to his gangster movies and had to deliver lines that seem really stupid. They don't just seem, they are. One would think that Oscar-winning actors like Robert De Niro and Forest Whitaker would choose their movies better, but who hasn't at least once stepped into murky waters? They didn't succeed with this, but we can still say that they simply wanted to give a chance to lesser-known people who will also be able to make a name for themselves in the film industry thanks to their names. However, I would like to express a small wish for director Jessy Terrero and L. Philippe Casseus to give up on the film and do something else. What the film has been failing at since the beginning is the screenplay. There are interesting characters that are not developed at all. They do not have any development. Maybe something is hinted in the character of 50 Cent, but that's about it. Casseus wrote the dialogues maybe in the dark and even his younger daughter fixed them, if he has one. Or a child from the neighbors, and he didn't read it afterwards. The viewer is therefore presented with an hour and a half of incredibly clichéd talk and scenes, until it's not nice anymore. "Freelancers" is a film that lacks tension, tries to shock where it is unnecessary, fails in action because the shots hit places where guns usually don't aim. I'm thinking that 50 Cent wanted to play again in something where he would get a little more space. He got it and you can actually see that something is happening with him. But the ending is again killed. De Niro and Whitaker don't act badly, but why would they try when it's bad from the beginning?
