Dominic Purcell plays Eirick, a re-animated former Viking king tasked with stopping the ancient Norse god Thor (Conan Stevens), who has returned to Earth in human form with the intent of opening a gateway between heaven and hell. But in order for Thor to succeed, he'll have to gather a set of lost relics before the coming 'blood eclipse', an event which only happens once every 800 years. Three basic elements are the foundation of failure. The first one is Dominic Purcell. Let's face it, he's not a great actor and the good movies can be counted on one hand. The second one is the Viking theme in the American-Malaysian co-production. Yes, what are surely familiar with Nordic stories and legends. And finally, cheap production. Nothing good could come out of it, and it didn't. Tricks are treated here like garbage, both the real and the digital ones. It's just piled up randomly. Acting can't even be discussed. Thor has great red hair though, and there are plenty of embarrassing dialogues.
