The Millennium Bug

A tad better than last year’s atrocious Creature, which it reminded me a little of. The creators tried to make a proper monster B-movie without CGI and they failed tragically. During the first 45 minutes a group of heroes and villains fight each other (and I don’t know who’s the most insufferable), in the second 45 minutes there is a relentless giant creature (something between a beetle, a rhino and a porcupine). There’s always something happening and yet it is so BORING that’s impossible to believe. This is basically a fan behind the camera who believes that to make a good movie all you need is a lot of action, blood and gore, and to often show the monster. For the obstinate fans of 1980s horror this may have some charm, at least as a guilty pleasure. (23/12/2012)
