A group of young urban offenders and their care workers embark on a community service weekend in the strange, remote Yorkshire village of Mortlake, which prides on keeping itself to itself. Visiting the local pub the ‘Dirty Hole’ which serves suspiciously hairy pork scratching, they quickly realise they’ve made the wrong holiday choice. When an incident with some local inbred youths rapidly escalates into a blood-soaked, deliriously warped nightmare, it’s not a case of who will survive, but what will be left. (Anchor Bay Films)

I think I’m too old for these fun and bloody hixploitation flicks. Inbred is a well made, undemanding snack, no more, no less; there are millions like it and I’m saturated. A couple of years ago I would’ve given it four stars, but today I dismiss it with a wave of my hand and forget about it. But if you fancy a fairly decent dose of redneck fun, go for it. 5.5/10
