The film follows the lives of two friends growing up in South Central LA. Craig (Ice Cube) has been fired from his job and is in danger of being kicked out of his house by his parents. Smokey (Chris Tucker) is in love with a fitness instructor, a fact that drives his girlfriend into fits of jealousy. Together they are in trouble with the local drug dealer, who threatens to shoot them if they don't pay the $200 they owe him by 10pm. With all that to sort out, it's sure to be one hectic Friday. A boring, lifeless, would-be comical recipe for killing time as “efficiently” as possible by doing nothing all day. Unless you’re an unemployed gangsta American with a Cadillac lowrider and you live in the suburbs of a big city in California.
