Japanese anime series adapted from Yukito Ayatsuji's novel set in a school plagued by a mysterious curse. When Koichi Sakakibara (voice of Atsushi Abe) transfers to Yomiyama North Middle School he befriends Mei Misaki (Natsumi Takamori), a strange girl with an eyepatch that the other students and faculty members seem to ignore. With both his classmates and their relatives dying unexpectedly and in brutal ways, Koichi quickly realises there is something sinister going on which may be related to the death of a student over 20 years previously. With Mei's help, he tries to uncover the mystery before they, too, become victims of the curse. (MVM Entertainment)

It got off to a great start. I was thinking to myself: finally, an anime that has something to it. And it did. Maybe for a few episodes. Then it slowly lost its appeal and suspense; you just ended up telling yourself that even a mere 12 episodes was too many, it kept dragging, if only they’d finally find and get rid of the extra stuff. Then it became a murder mystery that basically everyone survived, all’s well that ends well, and everything fizzled out completely. Of course, it wasn't a complete waste of time – at least not in the beginning. I'm really very sorry it turned out how it did. A weak 3 stars.
