Terence Stamp is Willie, a gangster s henchman turned informer trying to live in peaceful hiding in a remote Spanish village. Sun-dappled bliss turns to nerve-racking suspense, however, when two hit men played by a soulless John Hurt and a youthful, loose-cannon Tim Roth come a-calling to bring Willie back for execution. English At first sight, a bit of a different road-movie with gangsters. At second sight, a classic road-movie about the search for life’s truths and a journey through life itself. And the third sight? Simply an excellent road-movie with everything that goes with it: atmospheric music, beautiful cinematography and above all excellent performances. ()

English An interesting gangster road-movie that somewhat suffers from a slow pace and the peculiar psychological profile of its characters. The main player, portrayed by John Hurt, approaches his task somewhat complicatedly and clumsily. The plot is driven mainly by dialogues between two gangsters and their victim. Overall impression: 60%. ()
