English Technically very lousy, but it balances the value of the message - an insight into the roots of the Chinese economic miracle, the mundaneness of the proletariat and the confrontation with the senseless vertical of the city of Guangzhou. The scariest passage is a brief look into the lives of factory workers who charge batteries for Nokia. I felt from it helplessness bordering on blind fury... Of course, I have the battery in my pocket. I see this very raw piece as a demonstration of how capitalism works without democracy, and what Andrew Niccol points out with concern in In Time. It is not clear whether China is a reflection of the West's past or (in Žižek's words) a laboratory in which our future is being tested. ()
