Hard-working single mum Jamie Fitzpatrick (Maggie Gyllenhaal) is concerned that John Adams Elementary is letting her daughter down. The film has a good cast, with the actors simply not disappointing, whether it's Maggie Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis or Holly Hunter. Yet the story is so terribly optimistic that I found it a bit annoying at times, even though it's based on a true story. But I suppose that sometimes we need something more positive and good.
