Forced underground by the next ice-age, the inhabitants of Colony 7 struggle to survive below the world's frozen surface. When they mysteriously lose contact with the only other known settlement, Briggs (Laurence Fishburne) decides to lead a dangerous mission into the frozen wasteland determined to discover their fate. When he and his team reach their destination, they discover a threat much worse than nature and must battle to save themselves and protect their fellow colonists in what might be humanity's last stand. I haven’t seen such awfully ugly exteriors in a long time. Sure, it’s a cheap Canadian B-movie and there was no money for spectacle, but The Colony is sometimes so ugly to look at that it’s annoying. In any case, if we ignore the ugly visuals, the only thing left is a generic horror movie full of clichés with nothing interesting. It starts boring, ends as an average watchable snack.
