The abominable Dr. Phibes is back and still looking to resurrect his beloved wife, Victoria. His quest takes him to Egypt in search of a Pharaoh s tomb and the Rivers of Life that will bring her back to him. The Egyptian setting provides Dr. Phibes Rises Again with an air of adventure the film paying affectionate if slightly camp homage to the cliffhanger serials of the 1930s and the ripping yarns of H. Rider Haggard. (Arrow Films)

Even though the plot is peculiar and there is nothing particularly unexpected in it, I still can't help it. "The Resurrection of Dr. Phibes" is still a good movie to me, capable of evoking interesting emotions in the viewer, which may not necessarily be fear, but rather unpleasant feelings due to the inevitability of death portrayed here, the feeling that no one can escape their fate. Those aspects are also present in the theatrical masks. ()
